Parlour is an individual hair studio created and operated by Master Stylist and Cosmetology Educator, Amanda Richter. Located in the historic downtown district of Washington, North Carolina within The Hub on Main Street located at 126 W Main St.
Parlour offers an alternative to the distractions that come with the traditional salon atmosphere by providing a private, peaceful setting for both women and men.
I began my journey with The Aveda Institute in Columbus, Ohio, finishing the strict program to earn and pass the State Board Licensing Exam. After my initial schooling, I was fortunate enough to be hired by one of the top Salons in the world. During the intense year long training I earned the title Master Stylist. I am trained in the art of French Hair Cutting, which results in a softer, more adaptive look than a typical "British" cut.
Due to my training, I was offered an opportunity to teach aspiring professionals at a beauty academy. After obtaining my Instructor's License I educated cosmetology, and esthiology students through the rigorous training required to pass their state board exams.
My family and I made the decision to move to beautiful North Carolina in 2015. While in Raleigh, I branched out to the barbering industry; both managing and working behind the chair in the triangle's "Best Barber Shop" 3 years running.
Parlour is an integration of traditional salon services as well as my love for the art of barbering.
